Nevýhodou býva, že keď zacítia pach sučky v ruji, odmietajú poslušnosť majiteľovi a radšej poslúchnu hlas prírody. Pohlavne vydráždený pes má často snahu utiecť za sučkou i z domu. Ak sa mu to viackrát podarí, môže sa z neho stať tulák.
